MA Blog (April)

Amazing how much practical work you can get done when there is an essay deadline looming.

Productive procrastination is my favourite kind of procrastination!

Heres a few more experiments, this time trying to tie together some of the digital stitch samples, hand embroidery and the metal.

Im very happy with the two larger pieces, where the bolt has been used through the center of the flower to manipulate the finished form of the plaster cast. And i also really like the sample with the metal plate that has been wet blasted with the pattern of the stitch underneath. I feel this synergy between the hard and soft elements of the work is what i am going for. A blurring of the binaries and the masculine and feminine in a harmonious relationship in the piece. Il develop this further as i move forward.
