I loved this process...the fact that though it is a very similar process to the ceramics slip casting, there is definitely no hint of the artists hand in this. with ceramics you get to feel your way around the work, manipulate parts with your fingers... this process you have to keep your fingers away at all costs. Both processes use heat.. but at different points. Just an interesting thought to me.
The finished object, though rough, has a real industrial feel to it and the contrast with the other materials i have been using, which are all to different extents fragile, works well. Definitely this is a way i could begin to bring the metal elements back into my work.
